The Chicago Blackhawks' injury woes continued Wednesday as defenseman Jarred Tinordi missed practice due to concussion protocol. It's a tough break for Tinordi, who just returned from a stint on injured reserve (oblique) on Saturday.
The veteran defenseman skated in each of the Blackhawks' last three games, but he was limited to 12:33 of ice time in Tuesday's shootout loss to the Nashville Predators. Tinordi recorded one shot, three blocks, and two hits before taking his last shift early in the third period.
On the season, Tinordi has one assist in just 12 games. But at 6-foot-6 and 229 pounds, physicality is the calling card of his play style.
If Tinordi misses time again, the Blackhawks could recall a defenseman from the Rockford IceHogs or turn to Louis Crevier on the blue line. The towering rookie saw 15:59 of ice time in his NHL debut on Sunday before being a healthy scratch on Tuesday.
The Blackhawks will be back in action Thursday when the Anaheim Ducks visit the United Center. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
