Ohio State Football Draws Incredible Attendance for Spring Game
© Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK

Spring football is here. This Saturday will be the closest thing we get to a college football game day. Across the sport, programs are displaying their incoming transfers, highly touted recruits, and returning talents in front of fans.

Of those that had the biggest turnout is a top Big Ten team in Ohio State, who had over 80,000 fans come out to Ohio Stadium to watch the Buckeyes hit the field for the exhibition match.

Having a consistent 80,000 fans turnout for a regular season rivalry matchup, regular season contests or even a postseason game is incredible. The Buckeyes received that support for an exhibition match against themselves.

"Unbelievable. The support from Buckeye Nation has been great this whole offseason and again today," Day said. "We got a beautiful day with 80,000-plus [at the game]."

It is no shock Ohio State saw such an incredible attendance at the contest. They've got a passionate fan base as one of the top programs across the sport. There's plenty of potential with the upcoming team with plenty of returning talent as well as high-profile additions at key positions.

With an incredible team surrounding their quarterback room, Ohio State has the making of a National Championship-level squad, but getting consistent production under center to engine the offense will be important as the Buckeyes look to reach their potential this fall.

Ohio State begins its season on Aug. 31 against Akron to kick off a campaign in the new-look Big 12 -- adding Oregon, USC, UCLA, and Washington.
